Communication Specialist

About the role

The Communications and Engagement Coordinator will drive clear, consistent, and engaging internal communication across a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The role supports employee engagement initiatives and aligns messaging with the company’s culture, values, and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and distribute internal communications such as emails, newsletters, intranet updates, and digital signage.
• Maintain communication channels, ensuring content is accurate, timely, and consistent with company standards.
• Partner with leadership and HR to convey organizational changes, policies, and initiatives.
• Manage relationships and requirements with Louisiana government agencies.
• Support planning and execution of employee engagement programs, events, and recognition initiatives.
• Collect feedback through surveys and focus groups to measure engagement and identify improvements.
• Create written, visual, and multimedia content that reflects the brand and promotes a positive workplace culture.
• Coordinate communication projects from concept to completion, meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in internal communications or employee engagement, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency with intranet platforms and email systems.
• Experience using social media tools for internal audiences.
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic graphic design skills using Canva or Adobe Suite.
• Familiarity with ScreenCloud for digital signage.
