Commercialization Specialist (Part‑Time)

About the role

The Commercialization Specialist joins the ERDCWERX Innovation Hub in Vicksburg, Mississippi, working 26 hours per week to bridge ERDC technology with industry partners. Reporting to the EWX Commercialization Manager, the role focuses on building and nurturing industry‑to‑government relationships to advance technology transfer for the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center.

Key responsibilities

• Become familiar with ERDC intellectual property and assess market/industry applications.
• Conduct market research, identify industry trends, and pinpoint target companies for tech‑transfer opportunities.
• Use Hubspot and other digital tools to track interactions, deal status, and outreach activities.
• Engage with business accelerators, present value propositions, and provide coaching on technology transfer processes.
• Develop and execute commercialization marketing strategies, including email, phone, and LinkedIn outreach.
• Represent EWX at webinars, regional events, and professional meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, business, communications, economic development, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Five years of experience in marketing, business development, sales, or economic development preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOW security clearance or ITAR license.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
