College Work Study – Off Campus Recruitment (Student Worker)

About the role

This student‑worker position supports Texas A&M International University’s outreach to high‑school students and their families. You will help bridge the gap between high school and college by providing guidance, presentations, and one‑on‑one assistance at Go Centers and partner schools.

Key responsibilities

• Answer phones, type, file, photocopy, and perform general office duties.
• Provide clerical support, conduct background research, maintain records, and assist with special projects.
• Deliver campus tours, presentations, and informational sessions to high‑school audiences.
• Help set up, launch, and operate high‑school Go Centers.
• Visit assigned high schools weekly and attend community events and higher‑education trainings.
• Stay current on admissions and financial‑aid processes and use technical equipment such as laptops, projectors, and office supplies.

Required profile

• Enrolled at least half‑time (6 credit hours for undergraduates, 3 for graduates).
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
• Hold a current file with the Office of Financial Aid and demonstrate financial need via FAFSA.
• Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non‑citizen with an alien registration number.
• Comply with TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard office software applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentations).
