CNC Operator Level 3 – 3rd Shift

About the role

The company is seeking a skilled CNC Operator Level 3 to work the third‑shift schedule. The role involves operating and setting up CNC mills and lathes, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring production targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Operate all CNC equipment (mills and lathes) and perform Level 1 & 2 tasks.
• Set up machines using blueprints, engineering plans, and reference points, including tool registers and offsets.
• Change tool inserts, monitor wear, and perform basic service checks such as coolant and oil replenishment.
• Enter work orders into the maintenance system and configure CNC programs with zero and reference points.
• Load workpieces, verify settings, measure first‑run parts, and adjust programs as needed.
• Maintain quality by taking measurements, troubleshooting malfunctions, editing programs, and adhering to QA procedures.
• Collaborate with higher‑level CNC associates on new product setups and coach lower‑level operators.
• Support production goals for cycle time, quantity, and quality while suggesting process improvements.

Required profile

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Capability to follow written policies and procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with M & G codes.
• Experience operating CNC mills and lathes.
• Competence in CNC programming, including setting tool registers, offsets, and zero points.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Performing basic service checks such as coolant and oil maintenance.
