Clinical Rheumatologist – Full‑Time & Part‑Time Opportunities

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Clinical Rheumatologist to join the faculty at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. The position combines outpatient clinical care with teaching responsibilities for fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as involvement in clinical research.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nine half‑day outpatient clinic sessions per week with a balanced schedule.
• Participate in fellow education and cover inpatient consult services approximately every 7‑8 weeks.
• Utilize newly purchased musculoskeletal ultrasound equipment for patient evaluations.
• Collaborate with a dedicated rheumatology PharmD and multidisciplinary support team.
• Engage in clinical research initiatives and contribute to academic publications.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology.
• Physicians directly from residency or with post‑training experience are considered.
• Commitment to teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activity.
• Strong focus on patient‑centered care and collaborative practice.

Required skills

• Musculoskeletal ultrasound proficiency.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
