Clinical Research Nurse II

About the role

The Clinical Research Nurse II will support the Cellular Therapy Program oncology clinical trials at the Lombardi Clinical Trials Office, Georgetown University. This role ensures trial coordination, patient safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the study lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate assigned clinical trials from start‑up to close‑out, maintaining protocol integrity.
• Recruit and screen participants, obtain informed consent, and document eligibility.
• Perform study‑related procedures, manage patient care across outpatient, inpatient, and home settings, and provide symptom triage.
• Document all clinical activities in medical records and research charts per sponsor and protocol requirements.
• Collect and process research specimens in collaboration with Clinical Research Coordinators.
• Educate patients on trial participation, treatment expectations, and potential side effects.
• Update the Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS) with patient data and key trial dates.
• Assist with staff training, data query resolution, and ensure site compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Experience conducting oncology clinical trials or cellular therapy studies.
• Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and institutional research policies.
• Ability to manage patient interactions, documentation, and multi‑disciplinary coordination.
