Clinical Faculty, Counselor Education

About the role

Adams State University is hiring a clinical faculty member for its CACREP-accredited Counseling Program in Alamosa. The position is for a generalist covering the eight CACREP core areas, five doctoral CACREP areas and the clinical mental health counseling, school counseling and Ph.D. in CES specialties. Teaching takes place mainly online in the Master's and Ph.D. programs, with travel, evening and online course delivery required.

Key responsibilities

• Teach a broad range of courses online in the Master's and Ph.D. programs
• Work with the university's online division, supported by training, instructional designers and tools for video lectures and live classrooms
• Travel, deliver evening classes and teach online

Required profile

• Doctorate in Counselor Education at the time of appointment
• Strong focus on teaching and a record of professional scholarship and achievement
• Knowledge of and sensitivity to the educational needs of diverse individuals and groups, and responsiveness to the diversity of the university's student population
• Commitment to honesty, efficacy, collaboration and respectful, collegial work with students, colleagues and the community
• Willingness to develop and teach online courses

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with historically underserved and underrepresented populations and first-generation college students, and in recruiting and retaining them
• Commitment to professional development, scholarship and service
• Self-awareness of one's own cultural beliefs, perspectives and privileges
• Teaching experience and familiarity with online course delivery
• License eligible in Colorado

What we offer

• Pay range of $47,494-$59,368 depending on experience and education
