Civil/Site Engineer – Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, licensed civil and environmental engineer to lead the design, permitting, and development of our critical infrastructure sites. The role will manage complex coastal, wetland, floodplain, and endangered species considerations for autonomous maritime defense projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain site, civil utilities, and storm‑water management design and construction standards.
• Own end‑to‑end environmental permitting for capital project site development.
• Create permitting plans and act as primary liaison with USACE, state DEC/DEQ, local AHJs and other regulatory agencies.
• Support RFP and qualification processes for third‑party engineers, architects, and contractors.
• Review and comment on third‑party civil and environmental designs, providing subject‑matter expertise.
• Produce internal design documentation for small capital projects and conduct field visits during construction.
• Manage design aspects of small capital projects as needed.
• Travel up to 10 % for project‑specific site visits.

Required profile

• Licensed civil and environmental engineer with experience in coastal and wetland construction.
• Proven ability to navigate federal, state and local regulatory processes, including USACE and state DEC interactions.
• Experience developing permitting strategies and managing stakeholder communications.
• Strong understanding of storm‑water management, civil utilities, and site design standards.
