About the role
The Church Planter role is a full‑time staff position reporting to Ben Jensen. It involves preparing for and launching a new church in Ames, including organizational setup, team recruitment, and community outreach. Cornerstone expects staff to embody authenticity, ambition, and teamwork, and members will be integrated into Cornerstone Church under elder leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare yourself for church planting through coaching, self‑led reading, studying, assessments and required trainings.
- Create initial organizational documents, develop the church budget, vision statements and related materials.
- Recruit, meet regularly with, and shepherd a core team, lead evangelism and outreach, and develop key positions for the new church.
- Travel as needed for planting preparations.
