Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services seeks a dedicated professional to supervise a social services unit focused on child welfare. This role supports the agency’s mission to protect vulnerable children and strengthen families across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and guide the work assignments of a social services unit that investigates and manages child abuse or neglect cases.
• Direct professional staff, set unit goals, regulate workloads, and ensure timely actions for at‑risk clients.
• Conduct home‑visit evaluations, coordinate out‑of‑home placements, develop case plans, and initiate legal processes such as guardianship and adoption.
• Collect evidence, interview witnesses, prepare reports, and maintain required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of case‑management experience, or one year of experience at a lower‑level Child Welfare Services Case Manager position.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel statewide for work‑related duties.
• Ability to pass agency testing, background checks, drug screening, and verification of education credentials.
