Child Welfare Services Case Manager – Georgia DHS

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services seeks a dedicated Child Welfare Services Case Manager to respond to reports of alleged child maltreatment, conduct assessments, and develop safety plans for children and families in Dallas, Paulding County.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate timely, face‑to‑face responses to screened‑in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conduct safety assessments.
• Develop and implement safety plans, conduct search efforts, and use Solution Based Casework (SBC) to address identified concerns.
• Partner with children and parents to create Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
• Collaborate with community partners to build support systems and ensure adequate visit frequency for safety, permanency, and well‑being.
• Identify and address physical, educational, and mental health needs of children, parents, and foster parents.
• Establish and pursue permanency goals, ensuring stable foster placements and sibling co‑placement when possible.
• Maintain documentation of case activities within policy time frames and celebrate positive outcomes.
• Utilize a personal vehicle for work‑related travel, including transportation of children, and participate in after‑hours on‑call duty.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Pass the standard agency testing protocol and meet pre‑employment screening requirements (drug test, background checks, etc.).
