Child Welfare Services Case Manager (Entry Level)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a motivated individual to join its Division of Family & Children Services as a Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1. Working under supervision, you will provide investigative and comprehensive case management for children and families affected by abuse or neglect.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to screened-in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conduct safety assessments.
• Develop and implement immediate safety plans for identified concerns.
• Conduct diligent search efforts when families cannot be located.
• Apply Solution Based Casework (SBC) and partner with children and parents to create Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
• Complete genograms to map family support networks.
• Collaborate with community partners to build support systems for children and families.
• Ensure regular, quality visits to maintain safety, permanency, and well‑being.
• Identify and address physical, educational, and mental health needs of children, parents, and foster parents.
• Establish permanency goals and oversee foster care placements.
