Child Welfare Services Case Manager – Adoption Focus

About the role

Under supervision, the Case Manager learns to provide investigative and comprehensive case management for a caseload involving child or adult abuse or neglect. The role involves making immediate and follow‑up actions for at‑risk clients who need protective services or placement.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate timely, face‑to‑face responses to screened‑in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conduct safety assessments.
• Develop and implement safety plans, conduct search efforts to locate children/families, and apply Solution Based Casework.
• Partner with children and parents to create Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
• Identify and address physical, educational, and mental health needs of children, parents, and foster parents.
• Establish permanency goals, ensure stable foster care placements, and work toward timely adoption outcomes.
• Document case management activities within policy time frames and serve on after‑hours on‑call duty.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Successful completion of the agency’s standard testing protocol for the position.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a privately owned vehicle for work‑related travel.
