Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

About the role

The CISO at Cape is the chief protector of a privacy‑first mobile carrier. You will enable rapid product innovation while ensuring the network remains the most secure commercial mobile network on the planet.

Key responsibilities

• Own Cape’s end‑to‑end security strategy across network, product, cloud, and corporate IT.
• Build and lead a security team capable of defending a carrier‑grade network against nation‑state adversaries.
• Design security architecture and controls for the cellular network from radio access to core infrastructure.
• Partner with Engineering leadership to embed security into the product development lifecycle.
• Lead threat‑modeling, penetration testing, red‑team, and incident‑response programs.
• Set and communicate security policy to the board, translating technical risk into business terms.
• Manage external security vendors, auditors, researchers and run a bug‑bounty program.
• Champion a security‑first culture across the entire company.

Required profile

• 10+ years in information security with at least 5 years in senior leadership (CISO, VP Security, Head of Security).
• Eligible and willing to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Proven experience building security teams and programs from an early stage.
• Deep technical credibility to engage with engineers on architecture and risk.
• Ability to translate security risk to executive and board audiences.
