Chemical Handler – Manufacturing

About the role

Join BASF’s Catalysts division as a Chemical Handler at our Attapulgus, GA manufacturing site. You will support safe receipt, handling, transfer, and shipment of raw materials and chemicals, ensuring smooth production while upholding the highest safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Safely load, unload, transfer, and handle chemicals and raw materials from railcars, trucks, and other vessels.
• Operate process systems and equipment, including transfer controls, valves, hoses, and monitoring systems.
• Verify shipping and receiving documentation, inventory levels, material specifications, and quality requirements.
• Collect, label, test, and deliver samples while maintaining accurate operational records.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and support process safety initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work 8‑hour shifts in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Capability to read, write, perform arithmetic calculations, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Awareness of environmental, operational, and personnel safety hazards and appropriate response.
