Certified Medical Assistant – Youth Challenge Program (Fort Gordon)

About the role

The Georgia Youth Challenge Program (GaYCP) at Fort Gordon seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to provide on‑site health support for cadets and staff during the 22‑week residential phase and the subsequent post‑residential period. You will work in a structured, military‑style environment, delivering basic medical care and promoting health and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to medical emergencies, assess and treat minor injuries and illnesses.
• Dispense over‑the‑counter medications and ensure proper storage.
• Maintain accurate medical records, enter data into computer systems, and retrieve paperwork as needed.
• Assist with scheduling medical appointments for cadets.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and teach first‑aid classes to staff and cadets.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Required profile

• Valid Certified Medical Assistant credential.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in a disciplined, team‑oriented environment.

Required skills

• First Aid certification.
• Medication dispensing.
• Medical record keeping and data entry.
