Certified Athletic Trainer

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to deliver direct care that supports optimal athletic performance. The role involves prevention, immediate care, evaluation, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of athletes and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of injuries and illnesses, diagnosing acute, chronic, and emergent conditions.
• Provide onsite medical coverage and injury management during practices, games, and other sporting events.
• Design, implement, and adjust individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans based on patient progress.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions such as exercise, manual therapy, and approved modalities under physician direction.
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation of all evaluations, treatments, and patient interactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE‑accredited program.
• Less than 1 year clinical experience.
• Board certification (AT) and Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer license (ATL) upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Ability to work flexible hours, travel within 50 miles, and lift/carry heavy loads as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
• Experience using practice management software and electronic health records.
• Computer literacy for documentation and reporting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) knowledge.
