Category Buyer – Procurement (Facilities Management)

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Category Buyer to join its Procurement team in Mobile, AL. The role will set up procurement activities for facilities management and real‑estate/building construction services, secure supplier contracts and deliver optimal purchasing conditions for the company.

Key responsibilities

• Drive compliance with Airbus General Procurement processes and communicate with internal customers.
• Lead sourcing projects (Calls for Tenders) and manage RFP/RFI processes for assigned commodities, with project values typically around $1 million.
• Develop procurement plans, identify savings opportunities and report results to the Shared Services organization.
• Manage relationships with internal business partners across multiple Airbus divisions to ensure customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business and at least 7 years of procurement experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and strong knowledge of procurement processes.
• Experience in contract negotiation and contract management.
• Team‑player mindset with a customer‑first attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement tools such as SAP, Ariba, Coupa and Oracle.
