Caseworker – Refugee Support Services

About the role

The International Rescue Committee seeks a dedicated Caseworker to help remove barriers to safety and wellness for vulnerable refugees, asylees, and other eligible individuals in Montana. You will provide strengths‑based, client‑centered case management, guiding newly arrived families through health, social, and vocational services.

Key responsibilities

• Determine client eligibility and conduct intake assessments.
• Develop individualized service plans for clients in SCM, OIRS, and Healthy Futures programs.
• Support newly arrived refugee families under PIR program guidelines.
• Assist clients with healthcare navigation, especially youth in Missoula, Flathead, and Lewis & Clark Counties.
• Record services, evaluate progress, and adjust plans as needed.
• Conduct community outreach and maintain a network of service providers.
• Provide orientation on youth health, transportation, and physical healthcare systems.
• Respond to client crises with supervisor guidance.
• Help clients request and track financial assistance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation in client case files and the IRC database.

Required profile

• Experience working with refugees, asylees, or vulnerable populations.
• Strong client‑centered case management and assessment skills.
• Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external service providers.
• Excellent communication and crisis‑response capabilities.
