Cardiac CCU/Intensivist Physician

About the role

Ochsner Health’s John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a board‑certified/eligible cardiologist to provide inpatient care in the Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Step‑Down Unit in New Orleans, Louisiana. The position offers a blend of direct patient care, teaching, and clinical research within a nationally recognized heart program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiac intensive care to inpatients in the CCU and Step‑Down Unit, covering a 7 am – 7 pm schedule on a one‑week‑on, one‑week‑off rotation.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows in a group‑practice setting.
• Participate in clinical research initiatives aimed at improving patient safety and quality of care.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible cardiologist (BC/BE).
• Strong interest in direct patient care, education, and research within a collaborative cardiology department.
