Campus Safety Officer (Part‑Time)

About the role

The South Georgia Technical College campus in Americus is seeking a part‑time Campus Safety Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. This temporary position offers flexible shift work and direct involvement in campus safety operations.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor buildings, grounds, and access points to prevent unauthorized entry and detect suspicious activity.
• Respond to alarms, disturbances, criminal complaints, vehicle accidents, fires, natural disasters, and other emergencies.
• Authorize entry and departure of employees, students, visitors, and contractors.
• Inspect areas for fire, safety, or environmental hazards and ensure doors, windows, gates, and other access points are secure.
• Enforce college rules, provide security for campus events, document incidents, and prepare required reports.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, mornings, and other assigned shifts.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $18.00.
