Campus Police Officer – Part‑Time

About the role

The State of Georgia, through Chattahoochee Technical College, is seeking a part‑time Campus Police Officer to ensure safety across its campuses. This role involves patrolling, traffic management, and responding to incidents while supporting the college community.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol assigned campus areas and monitor safety of buildings and grounds.
• Manage traffic flow, enforce parking regulations, and investigate traffic incidents.
• Respond to vandalism, theft, violence, and other crimes; make arrests when necessary.
• Complete administrative duties related to incident reporting and record keeping.
• Maintain firearm qualification, complete yearly continuing education, and travel between campuses as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Georgia POST certification in good standing.
• Valid Georgia Class C driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment drug test, background check, fingerprinting, psychological assessment and polygraph.
• Preferred: at least 12 months of police experience, prior work in a college or school environment, and successful completion of a field training program.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $22.00, up to 29 hours per week.
• Rotating shifts, including possible evening hours.
• No State of Georgia benefits attached to this position.
