Campus Police Officer – Augusta Technical College

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Campus Police Officer to provide law‑enforcement services and ensure safety on the Augusta Technical College campus. The officer will work closely with college administration, students and local authorities to maintain a secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Guard and monitor campus buildings, entrances and exits.
• Patrol premises to detect intrusions and secure doors, windows and gates.
• Apprehend criminal suspects and coordinate with local jurisdiction for booking.
• Respond to medical emergencies, hazardous events and other service calls.
• Write daily activity and incident reports.
• Coordinate disaster response, open shelters, conduct evacuation drills and manage special‑needs programs.
• Direct traffic and provide security for special events.
• Maintain current Georgia POST certification and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Georgia POST certification with no deficient training years.
• Minimum two years of road‑patrol law‑enforcement experience.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.
• Effective communication skills and knowledge of state and local laws.
