Campus Parking Guard

About the role

The Parking Guard enforces campus parking regulations, issues citations, and helps maintain safe and orderly parking facilities at LSU.

Key responsibilities

• Issue parking citations by monitoring parking areas, roadways, and campus property using a handheld computer.
• Set up, take down, and store traffic control devices for daily operations and special events; direct vehicles and manage traffic flow.
• Assist motorists with services such as jump‑starts, and participate in booting, impounding, and towing of vehicles.

Required profile

• Valid Louisiana driver’s license (Class E or equivalent) and ability to pass motor vehicle record check and drug screening.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to work night and weekend shifts, including overtime and emergency situations.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit for long periods, lift 50 + pounds, and operate a two‑way radio.

Required skills

• Operation of a computerized handheld device for citation processing.
• Use of a two‑way radio for campus communications.
