CAD Manager – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

Revamp Engineering is seeking a CAD Manager to own firm‑wide CAD standards, drafting quality, and content libraries for utility‑scale solar PV, BESS, and substation projects. You will lead CAD implementation, training, and QA/QC practices while collaborating with engineering leads and the Integration & Process Automation team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve CAD standards, layers, blocks, title blocks, plot styles, and templates across AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Build and manage the firm’s CAD content library, including standard details, symbols, sheet set templates, and dynamic blocks.
• Lead version rollouts, workspace configuration, and provide day‑to‑day tool support for drafting staff.
• Develop and enforce QA/QC procedures, conduct audits, and resolve compliance findings.
• Mentor and train engineers and designers on standards, custom tools, and automation practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, drafting technology, computer science or equivalent experience (10 years can substitute degree).
• Minimum 7 years of CAD or design experience in AEC or renewable‑energy environments, with proven ownership of CAD standards and content libraries.
• Experience leading CAD implementation, version rollouts, workflow documentation, and end‑user training.
• Supervisory or team‑lead experience with drafting staff and strong written/ verbal communication.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• AutoLISP/Visual LISP scripting and AutoCAD .NET API (C#) development.
• Git version control for custom tools or scripts.
• Automation tools such as Dynamo, Python, and GIS platforms like QGIS.
