CAAS Staff Accountant (Entry Level)

About the role

GMP Advisors is seeking an entry‑level CAAS Staff Accountant to join its Client Accounting and Advisory Services team in Tyler, Texas. This position offers hands‑on exposure to a variety of client industries and a clearly defined career path toward senior, controller, and partner‑track roles.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day bookkeeping for assigned clients, including transaction coding, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare monthly client financial reports under the guidance of CAAS Seniors.
• Assist with payroll processing, payroll tax filings, and sales/excise tax reports.
• Support month‑end close activities and contribute to client financial reporting.
• Maintain organized, accurate client workpapers that meet firm quality standards.
• Communicate professionally with clients on routine inquiries and requests.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or early‑career accounting professional eager to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior accountants and partners.
• Willingness to seek mentorship and incorporate feedback.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
