Business Process Engineering Summer Internship 2027

About the role

Mapfre’s Transformation Office is looking for a motivated college student to join the Ways of Working team for a 10‑week summer internship (June 7 – August 13 2027) in Webster, MA. The intern will support enterprise‑wide process management, business architecture and transformation initiatives, gaining hands‑on experience in process analysis, mining and improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain business process models, maps, customer journeys and capability artifacts.
• Analyze current‑state processes to identify bottlenecks, rework, control gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with data collection, performance measurement and trend analysis to support fact‑based recommendations.
• Support process‑mining activities, validate findings and translate insights into business observations.
• Create executive‑ready presentations, visualizations and documentation for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program (rising junior or senior) or a master’s program in a relevant field such as Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Data Science or related.
• Strong analytical, systems‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• BPMN or other process‑mapping techniques (value‑stream, journey, swimlane diagrams)
• Process mining concepts
• Familiarity with tools such as ARIS, Celonis, Power BI, Visio (optional)
