Business Operations Lead

About the role

The Business Operations Lead supports the Cash & Custody Function of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, ensuring continuous end‑user services, operational resilience, and high service levels for critical currency and gold operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support business continuity and contingency planning for automated systems.
• Champion team growth through mentorship and training, fostering continuous improvement.
• Oversee daily operational execution, monitor team performance, and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Resolve escalated problems by collaborating with internal teams, Bank stakeholders, and vendors.
• Drive process optimization by identifying improvement opportunities and recommending solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation for operational processes and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, regulations, and industry standards.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience managing day‑to‑day operations and holding teams accountable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for setting expectations and providing feedback.
• High‑level customer support experience with a record of maintaining service excellence.
• Solid understanding of operational controls and compliance with SOPs and safety standards.
• Coaching mindset with experience training and developing team members.
• Self‑motivated, independent, and able to manage projects with minimal supervision.
• Flexible availability for on‑call support, shift coverage, or rotating schedules.
