Business Operations Lead

About the role

Serval is launching a new business line and needs a Business Operations Lead to act as a mini‑CEO. You will own strategy, operations, reporting and the P&L, partnering with executives, sales, deployment, engineering and operations to build a strong eight‑figure business in the first year.

Key responsibilities

• Own the P&L for the line, building operating plans and delivering revenue, margin and profitability targets.
• Set and defend pricing and packaging, testing models in live deals and adjusting to market feedback.
• Partner with Deployment on unit economics to scale the business while ensuring best‑in‑class customer experience.
• Collaborate with Sales on deal strategy, sit in calls, structure contracts and drive win‑rates.
• Build forecasting and operating cadence (weekly pipeline, monthly business review, quarterly plan).
• Define growth levers from office locations to talent acquisition and hiring criteria.

Required profile

• 5‑8+ years in business operations, strategic finance, corporate strategy, consulting or an operating role at a high‑growth software company.
• Direct experience owning or shaping a P&L, gross‑margin line or pricing model.
• Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills.
• Fluency with Salesforce, a BI tool and billing/usage data reconciliation.
• Deep understanding of software and AI unit economics (COGS, gross margin, payback, net revenue retention).
• Proven track record partnering with functional leaders to drive execution.
• Comfortable moving fast, being wrong publicly and correcting quickly.
