Business Development Manager – General Contractor

About the role

SDV Construction is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to build relationships, uncover early opportunities and guide projects from concept through award across New Mexico and the Southwest. This role blends strategic market development with hands‑on collaboration with executives, estimating and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop high‑quality opportunities across core sectors such as National Security, Healthcare, Education, Corporate/Office and Municipal markets.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of owners, developers, architects and consultants throughout New Mexico and the Southwest.
• Qualify opportunities, lead go/no‑go decisions and design pursuit strategies aligned with client needs and SDV capabilities.
• Coordinate internal estimating, pre‑construction and operations resources to ensure profitable and executable pursuits.
• Represent SDV in the market, strengthen reputation with industry partners and maintain CRM visibility of all activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent construction experience.
• Proven success initiating and closing commercial construction business development opportunities.
• Deep understanding of the full construction lifecycle and contract delivery methods.
• Strong analytical ability to support strategy with data and market intelligence.
• Willingness to travel regionally throughout New Mexico and surrounding states.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM platforms.
• Proficiency in structured reporting systems.
