Build Engineer, Turbomachinery – 2026 New Graduate

About the role

Radiant Industries is seeking a hands‑on Build Engineer to translate high‑speed rotating hardware designs into functional prototypes for its pioneering portable nuclear microreactor program. This entry‑level position offers new graduates the chance to work directly on compressors, turbines, rotors, electric motors and related components in a fast‑paced startup environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate prototype turbomachinery hardware, including compressors, turbines, rotors, electric motors, bearings, seals and housings.
• Develop and follow precise assembly instructions, alignment procedures and torque specifications.
• Support rotor stacking, bearing installation, balancing and alignment operations.
• Document assembly activities, as‑built observations and lessons learned.
• Design, build and maintain tooling, fixtures and work‑holding solutions.
• Create work instructions and standard operating procedures for assembly processes.
• Collaborate with design, test and manufacturing teams to prepare hardware for first‑article testing and validation.
• Participate in troubleshooting assembly issues and provide feedback for design improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (2026 graduate).
• Strong interest in high‑speed rotating machinery and precision hardware.
• Hands‑on mindset with a willingness to learn by building and testing.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams and accept mentorship.
