About the role

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs is seeking a seasoned Budget Director to lead the planning, execution, and oversight of its multi‑million‑dollar budget. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring fiscal responsibility and supporting the agency’s mission to build strong, vibrant communities across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the preparation, maintenance, and management of the Department’s $300+ million budget.
• Provide strategic guidance to directors and program managers on funding availability and budget constraints.
• Lead a team of budget managers and analysts, fostering collaboration and professional development.
• Develop and present budget reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with state financial regulations and reporting standards.
