About the role
The State of Georgia is seeking a Budget Analyst to support the Office of Addictive Disease within the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Working under the supervision of the Behavior Health Budget Manager, you will develop, analyze, and revise complex budgets for addictive disease programs.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain large, complex budgets and supporting schedules for the Office of Addictive Disease.
- Analyze budget program and policy issues, financial trends, and proposed legislation.
- Prepare budgetary forecasting reports, trend analyses, and cost‑effectiveness evaluations.
- Collaborate with Budget and Procurement Managers and Division Program Directors to align financial planning with agency goals.
- Provide technical assistance and consultative services on budget formulation, contract development, and strategic planning.
- Coordinate information collection and analysis with the Office of Planning and Budget, House Budget Office, and Senate Budget Office.
- Guide and mentor staff engaged in budget control and program activities.
Required profile
- Ability to work under broad supervision and serve as a lead worker when needed.
- Strong analytical mindset for evaluating program efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
- Experience collaborating across divisions and with external budget offices.
