Boiler Operator

About the role

Join 3M’s utility plant team as a Boiler Operator, responsible for safe and efficient operation of high‑pressure boilers and related equipment. This onsite position supports continuous plant operations across multiple shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Operate high‑pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment, including fuel source switching during curtailments.
• Run electric and steam turbine chillers and associated auxiliary systems.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on boilers, steam condensers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, pumps and fans.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and record‑keeping for all utility plant activities.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (or higher) completed prior to start.
• State of Minnesota 1st Class A Engineer license (or higher).
• Minimum 3 years experience operating high‑pressure boilers.
• Willingness to work weekends, rotating shifts, overtime and holidays as needed.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
