Board-Certified Neurologist – Outpatient Focus

About the role

Ochsner Health in Lake Charles is seeking a Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible Neurologist to join a growing, outpatient‑focused practice. The position offers a collaborative, patient‑centered environment within Louisiana’s largest health system, with immediate patient volume from an established referral base.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general neurology care with opportunities to develop subspecialty interests such as headache, epilepsy, stroke, or movement disorders.
• Maintain an outpatient‑focused schedule with minimal inpatient duties, utilizing EPIC EMR and tele‑neurology/tele‑stroke services to support work‑life balance.
• Perform and interpret advanced neurodiagnostic tests, including EEG, EMG, and neuroimaging, in coordination with integrated diagnostic services.

Required profile

• Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible in Neurology.
• Commitment to high‑quality, evidence‑based patient care in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work within an outpatient practice model and collaborate with primary care and specialty providers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Experience with tele‑neurology and tele‑stroke platforms.
• Competence in EEG, EMG, and neuroimaging interpretation.
