Board Certified Neurologist – Inpatient Practice

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Neurologist to join its growing inpatient neurology team in Slidell, Louisiana. The position focuses exclusively on inpatient care, offering a regular weekday schedule with no mandatory weekend or overnight call.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient neurological evaluation, diagnosis, and management.
• Round on hospital floors, consult with hospitalists, and coordinate care plans.
• Read and order diagnostic tests, interpret results, and develop treatment strategies.
• Collaborate daily with a dedicated Nurse Practitioner and other advanced practice providers.
• Utilize telemedicine services for overnight and weekend support as needed.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Neurology.
• Willingness to practice inpatient neurology exclusively.
• Ability to work a Monday‑Friday 8 am‑5 pm schedule.
• Strong collaborative skills with hospitalists, nurses, and APPs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Experience using telemedicine platforms for remote patient care.
