Billing Specialist

About the role

The Billing Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely member billing, payment processing, accounts receivable reconciliation, and reporting. This role works closely with district offices to ensure efficient billing operations and provides key support for member account inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and process member billing schedules and cycles with district offices.
• Generate and distribute member invoices, process payments, and handle returned e‑check transactions.
• Maintain daily accounts receivable balances, reconcile payment receipts, and balance system totals.
• Provide member support for billing inquiries, payment research, and online portal navigation.
• Create and distribute delinquency, cutoff, inactive membership, and deposit reports.
• Assist with year‑end system processing, capital credit allocation, and annual rate assignments.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational or accounting training preferred.
• Minimum three years of office experience, preferably with billing systems, payment processing, and accounts receivable.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to handle high‑volume data entry.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using computerized billing systems and accounting software.
