Billing Customer Service Representative

About the role

The Billing Customer Service Representative supports Specialty Healthcare Billing & Consulting by handling patient billing inquiries, complaints, and requests. Reporting to the Director of Patient Advocacy & Customer Service, the role focuses on delivering high‑quality service and meeting productivity goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide top‑notch, professional customer service to a diverse patient base.
• Address all patient billing questions, complaints, and requests promptly to ensure maximum satisfaction.
• Engage customers daily via phone, email, and other communication channels.
• Navigate multiple computer‑based applications quickly and accurately.
• Accept coaching and feedback to meet predetermined performance targets.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to type at least 50 wpm and use a 10‑key keypad efficiently.
• Basic understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and ability to explain them in detail.
• Working knowledge of at least one insurance company’s billing process.
• Experience handling high volumes of customers in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Typing speed ≥ 50 wpm.
• Proficient 10‑key data entry.
• Knowledge of EOB statements.
• Familiarity with insurance billing procedures.
• Ability to operate multiple computer applications efficiently.
