Billing Analyst – Lab & Pathology

About the role

The Billing Analyst supports the laboratory and pathology services by ensuring accurate and timely billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle operations. This position works closely with internal departments, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to resolve billing issues and maintain compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and process billing and reimbursement activities for lab and pathology services.
• Monitor accounts, research billing discrepancies, and resolve payment issues with internal departments, insurance companies, and other stakeholders.
• Process professional billing, handle claim denials in Epic, and manually post charges as needed.
• Ensure accurate CPT and ICD‑10 coding, apply appropriate Medicaid modifiers, and request corrections from certified coders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with at least 1 year of experience, or high school diploma with 5 years of relevant medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, and pathology terminology to support accurate coding.
• Familiarity with third‑party reimbursement requirements, especially Arkansas Medicaid and related modifiers.
