Bilingual Virtual Front Desk & Intake Medical Assistant (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Virtual Front Desk & Intake Medical Assistant to join a long‑established nonprofit behavioral health organization. Working remotely, you will be the first point of contact for patients and families, guiding them through the intake process, eligibility screening, and appointment scheduling while providing compassionate support.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and manage incoming calls, voicemails, emails, and online forms in both English and Spanish.
• Conduct initial telephone screenings, collect essential patient information, and determine insurance or financial assistance eligibility.
• Explain the intake process, assist patients with completing forms and navigating the patient portal.
• Identify incomplete paperwork or eligibility issues and coordinate resolution with the back‑office team.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments only after required documentation is complete, following clinic‑specific procedures.
• Prioritize daily voicemail and inquiry reviews, ensuring timely follow‑up and clear communication.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and Spanish with excellent verbal communication skills.
• Experience in front‑desk, intake, or patient coordination within a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with empathy and maintain professional focus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
