Bilingual Passenger Service Agent (English & Portuguese)

About the role

Swissport, a global leader in ground handling, cargo handling and passenger services, is hiring a Passenger Service Agent in Miami, Florida on a part-time basis. The agent provides all passenger and customer services contracted by the customer, including reservations, ticketing, baggage processing, check-in, jetway operations, VIP handling, special assistance and complaint handling. Professional fluency in both English and Portuguese (written and verbal) is required.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and verify passenger documentation
• Issue boarding passes and reschedule passengers affected by flight interruptions or cancellations
• Manage baggage processing, including handling and fee calculation where applicable
• Assist passengers during arrival and check-in, including unaccompanied minors, VIPs and passengers needing wheelchair assistance
• Direct passengers through Customs, Immigration and Quarantine as required
• Make public address announcements as required
• Help Ramp Service Agents make wheelchairs, strollers and gate-checked bags available for loading and delivery to passengers
• Operate the jetway, computer keyboards and carrier-specific reservation and ticketing software
• Produce required work documentation and comply with security requirements and Swissport SOPs

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Relevant work experience and passion for customer service
• Excellent written and verbal communication in the country's language; additional languages desirable
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Willingness to work in inclement weather

Required skills

• Ability to type and learn airline-specific reservation and ticketing software
• Follows processes and procedures with a flexible approach

The expected pay rate is $21.91 per hour.
