Behavioral Health Patient Access Representative II

About the role

The Behavioral Health Patient Access Representative II provides front‑line registration and financial services for patients in Vail Health's behavioral health and psychiatry settings. This hybrid position works onsite on Fridays and as needed, with remote work the rest of the week.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and verify patient information, collect consents, insurance cards, co‑payments, and financial paperwork.
• Communicate with patients, providers, and colleagues via phone, email, fax, and Microsoft Teams, resolving non‑clinical questions.
• Verify insurance eligibility, process Medicare requirements, identify need for ABNs, and complete secondary payer questionnaires.
• Maintain patient files, scan medical records, and ensure accurate EMR documentation.
• Post collected monies, enter charge codes, and reconcile daily bank bags.
• Support departmental data collection, audits, and compliance reporting.
• Work across multiple locations in Edwards and Frisco, and provide training to new staff.

Required profile

• Experience in behavioral health, healthcare admitting, clerical, customer service, or hospitality preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources is a plus.
• Coursework in Medical Terminology preferred.
