Banquet Event Server

About the role

Baron Staffing is looking for an enthusiastic server to oversee, enhance and ensure a pleasant dining experience for guests. The server maintains a positive, respectful relationship with team members, engages guests professionally and informs management of potential service and product issues early. Opening and closing duties are performed each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Perform opening duties such as setting tables, polishing glasses, folding napkins and replenishing condiments
• Carry plates of food on trays or three plates in synchronized service
• Attend pre-shift meetings to learn about special orders, stock issues and service matters
• Introduce yourself and engage with guests
• Check on guests to gauge satisfaction and give management feedback
• Perform closing duties such as sweeping, vacuuming and preparing linens for the laundry service

Required profile

• Previous serving experience in banquet settings of at least 2 years (preferred)
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and special events
• Reliable transportation
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds, stand and walk up to 10 hours a day, move fast for up to 8 hours, and bend, squat, climb, push, stoop and crouch repeatedly

Required skills

• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills; multiple languages a plus
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Adherence to uniform policy and grooming standards
