About the role

The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY is seeking a Baking & Pastry Chef Instructor to join its world‑renowned faculty. You will design and deliver high‑quality coursework, mentor students, and contribute to the institute’s culinary curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute daily lesson plans and teach assigned baking and pastry courses.
• Assess student progress, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate grade records.
• Offer individualized support, career guidance, and office hours for students needing extra assistance.
• Create, review, and update course guides, syllabi, and related instructional materials.
• Prepare food demonstrations and recipes within budgetary constraints.
• Participate in departmental assessments and contribute to the institute’s overall mission.

Required profile

• Professional experience in baking and pastry arts, preferably with teaching or mentorship background.
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex culinary techniques.
• Commitment to student success and adherence to CIA policies.
