Aviation Technology Instructor (Full-Time Faculty)

About the role

The Aviation Technology Instructor will join the School of Business, Aviation & Technology at Pierpont Community & Technical College. This full‑time faculty position involves teaching a 19‑contact‑hour semester load, advising students, and contributing to research and professional development aligned with the college’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and hangar instruction in aviation maintenance technology.
• Develop lesson plans, teaching aids, and assessment tools meeting FAA training standards.
• Advise and evaluate students, ensuring successful completion of shop and laboratory assignments.
• Manage shop projects, maintain inventory, and oversee training equipment.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and in‑service programs.
• Submit accurate grades and attendance records within required timeframes.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and safety compliance.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of aviation mathematics, basic electricity, basic electronics, airframe systems, and powerplant systems.
• Ability to work effectively in both classroom and hangar environments.
• Commitment to student success and adherence to institutional policies.
