Authorized Inspector Trainee (Pressure Vessel Inspection)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a dedicated Trainee Inspector with hands‑on experience in metal fabrication and pressure‑vessel manufacturing. The position is ideal for welders, NDE technicians, QC managers or inspectors who want to transition into inspection and certification, ensuring compliance with ASME and NBIC codes while building a career in quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ASME and National Board shop and field inspection services, including review and verification of code‑required activities and witnessing required tests.
• Monitor client quality‑control systems for compliance with relevant codes and document all inspection activities per established policies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable sections of the ASME Code, the National Board Inspection Code, and jurisdictional requirements for boilers and pressure vessels.
• Maintain and update knowledge of ASME, NBIC and jurisdictional codes through self‑study, internal training and approved courses.

Required profile

• High school diploma (minimum educational requirement).
• Ability to read, write and speak clearly, use a computer and perform basic arithmetic.
• Capability to understand and interpret boiler and pressure‑vessel codes and interact effectively with clients.
• Commitment to adhere to company policies, directives and procedures and to provide accurate, timely reporting.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ASME Code requirements for pressure vessels.
• Familiarity with the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC).
• Experience with pressure‑vessel inspection and fabrication processes.
• Computer literacy and basic arithmetic for documentation and reporting.
