About the role
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts seeks an Auditor to provide advanced financial and forensic accounting support for complex investigations. The role involves collaborating with Assistant U.S. Attorneys and investigators to develop evidence, prepare audit findings, and support legal proceedings.
Key responsibilities
- Examine complex financial audits and investigations involving suspected fraud or other financial wrongdoing.
- Review and analyze financial records, transactions, emails, and other evidence to identify patterns and trace funds.
- Rebuild incomplete or missing financial records and develop financial profiles of individuals or organizations under investigation.
- Interview witnesses and work with legal teams to gather and evaluate financial evidence.
- Develop reports, exhibits, charts, and other materials that clearly explain audit results and support investigative or legal proceedings.
Required profile
- U.S. citizen or national.
- Selective Service registration for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Ability to pass fingerprint, credit, tax, drug testing, and background investigations.
- Willingness to complete a probationary period if required.
