Attorney/Lawyer – Equity Derivatives

About the role
We are seeking an experienced attorney to join a growing equity derivatives practice within a major financial services environment in Boston. This long‑term contract role focuses on complex documentation for strategic equity swaps and related financing arrangements, working closely with business, compliance, and legal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and negotiate legal agreements supporting equity swap transactions and related financing structures.
- Develop and update master trading documentation, collateral arrangements, trade confirmations, and other derivatives records.
- Handle documentation for securities lending and repurchase transactions that support hedging and financing needs.
- Guide client onboarding by addressing documentation requirements and ensuring legal readiness.
- Advise internal partners on regulatory obligations affecting equity derivatives and financing products.
- Support the rollout of new offerings by establishing documentation frameworks and contract standards.
- Collaborate with global legal teams and coordinate with outside counsel when specialized input is required.
- Provide ongoing documentation support for active client relationships and evolving transaction structures.
Required profile
- Active license to practice law in the United States.
- Demonstrated experience as an attorney in a financial services or related legal setting.
- Background drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial or financial contracts, preferably involving derivatives or financing.
- Working knowledge of trading documentation such as master agreements, collateral documents, confirmations, securities lending agreements, or repurchase agreements.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks affecting financial products and institutional client activity.
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent legal writing, briefing, and document analysis skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration across legal, business, and external partner groups.
