Attorney, Fintech Compliance & Data Privacy

About the role

SavvyMoney, a fast‑growing fintech based in the San Francisco Bay Area, is looking for an Attorney to lead its Fintech Compliance and Data Privacy program. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the attorney will shape privacy, AI governance and regulatory compliance strategies while working closely with product, engineering and executive teams. The role can be performed in a hybrid setting in Dublin, CA or remotely with periodic on‑site meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead privacy, data‑protection and AI compliance initiatives across the organization.
• Advise product and engineering teams on legal implications of AI‑enabled services.
• Develop and maintain internal privacy policies, AI governance procedures and compliance playbooks.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial, SaaS and vendor agreements with a focus on privacy and security provisions.
• Monitor and interpret evolving privacy, consumer‑protection and AI regulations and communicate risks to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and serve as the primary internal privacy resource.

Required profile

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar admission.
• 8+ years of legal experience, preferably with law‑firm and in‑house exposure.
• Extensive experience advising on privacy, data‑protection, technology transactions and commercial contracting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GLBA, FCRA, CCPA, TCPA, DPA, COPPA and emerging AI regulations.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills, with ability to translate complex legal concepts for cross‑functional teams.
