About the role
Moog is seeking an Associate Systems Packaging Engineer to support the Hypersonic Vehicle Systems group. The role involves creating 3D system layouts, developing packaging concepts, and collaborating with customers to meet size, weight, and power constraints for aerospace and defense applications.
Key responsibilities
- Develop 3D models and system packaging layouts using CAD tools.
- Generate preliminary design solutions that satisfy mission requirements.
- Collaborate with customers and sales teams during proposal and negotiation phases.
- Perform tolerance stack analyses and support manufacturing documentation.
- Conduct thermal, structural, and dynamic analyses to validate packaging concepts.
- Provide technical input for assembly, test, and integration processes.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 0‑3 years of design or drafting experience.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Eligibility for a DoD Contractor Security Clearance (preferred if already held).
Required skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (NX, Pro‑E, SolidWorks).
- Experience with electrical and mechanical component packaging, connectors, and cable routing.
- Knowledge of tolerance stacking and manufacturing tolerancing.
- Ability to perform thermal, structural, and dynamic analyses.
- Understanding of assembly and test methods for avionics or space environments.
